This investigation was a part of the course Transitory Place taught at California College of the Arts to undergraduate juniors and seniors. Transitory Place was a UDIST and ENGAGE course that explored how place is created in public spaces of movement, like assembly spaces, modes of transportation, commuter communities and other ambulatory circulation through urban space. Through this investigation we explored our own biases and assumptions surrounding private and public spaces we’ve interacted with throughout our lives while focusing on the role of culture in transitory places and the role of diversity in engaging with them.
